Role of Wellness
Insurance Partners of Texas began implementing corporate wellness programs in an effort to proactively reduce the health care cost trend. Our goal is to help offset the typical medical insurance increases assessed to employers due to unhealthy employee populations. Our strong belief in the success of these programs led us to assemble a team of professionals uniquely qualified to assess, educate, and motivate individuals.
iaWellness was established with a focus of developing uniquely customized programs based on the needs of each client we partner with. Meghan Gandy is the Director of Wellness and is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian. Assisting Meghan are additional full-time staffed Registered Dietitians and degreed Exercise and Sports Science Specialists. The wellness team works closely with each company, evaluating the population risks and developing effective programs to target specific behavior changes.
A Harvard study published in 2010 of wellness programs found an ROI of $3.27 for every $1.00 spent for companies that invested in a comprehensive wellness program. The components required to achieve this ROI include:
- Biometric Screening with Health Risk Assessments
- Self-help education materials
- Individual counseling
- Classes, seminars, group activities
- Added incentives for participation
